VELA SCORES

The striker of Real Sociedad, Carlos Vela, got rid of his poor form and scored a goal in the La Liga match against Real Zaragoza to help his team secure a victory of 2-0. The match was played at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta.

Vela hadn’t been in good form since the start of the season. He hadn’t scored even a single goal in the season before going into this match.

Vela has signed for Sociedad this summer. He had played for Sociedad on loan in the last season and had performed wonderfully for the club. He had played in 30 matches and scored 12 goals.

Due to his brilliant performance in the last season, Sociedad decided to sign him on a permanent basis. On 10th of August, the manager of Sociedad, Philippe Montanier, confirmed the signing of Vela. Real Sociedad paid 4 million Pounds to Arsenal for buying Vela.

In the match against Zaragoza, Sociedad team didn’t manage to score any goal in the first half, but, in the second half, the Sociedad players found the net twice in a space of five minutes.

It was Inigo Martinez who scored the first goal for Sociedad in the 55th minute with a header. Just after five minutes, Sociedad earned a penalty and Vela capitalized on that penalty to score his first goal in the current season.
In the post match press conference, Vela said, “I was under a bit of pressure before going into the match. I was a bit low in confidence. But, I am relieved after scoring in the match. And, the most important thing is that my goal contributed in the victory of the team.”

“We didn’t have a very good first half. But, in the second half, we played with a positive mind set and that paid off.”
Real Sociedad will now take on Levante on Sunday at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
